Just saw Kristan on Rachael Ray and I thought it would be great to find a tool grrl site. There are so extremely few sites geared to women who like home repair. Your site is nice but there isn't a lot here. Please add more tips and ideas.

Kristan,
I live in Orange County, CA. I just finished doing a major remodel/addition to my home and I'm currently in need of an interior designer. I just want to know whether you know of any resources where I could find local designers around my area. Obviously budget is a large factor as I've never dealt with designers, but just watching your show makes me want to go for it. My sense of color/design is probably the worse, so I don't think I'd want to try to DIY.
Thanks!

hi, kristan: I just wanted to say how much I love your show. You have such great ideas, and I love how you and your team work together and allow your individualities to show through! I really like your website so far, and the links you posted were great! I guess my only suggestion would be to have more DIY ideas on your website.

My wife and I live in Minneapolis/St Paul. Are there any connections you have to interior designers here in the area, specifically closer to St. Paul? My wife and I seem to seriously lack the talent level to envision a new style for several spaces in our home. I'd love to have a professional (or even a design student) come in with some fresh ideas for family rooms, bathrooms, and our basement living area. I'd love to hear if you have any local ties and/or recommendations for reputable interior design contractors here in Minnesota!!

I live in Fargo ND. I have been watching your show ever since Cable one started airing it. I love design and I'm trying to work out an elf design for my whole appartment based on the Lord of the rings movies. I am very low income and can't afford much at any given time.
I know I am too far away for you and your crew to come and help me. Really wish you could though would love to meet you and your crew. But since you probbabily can't make it out this way this will have to do. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Kristan, I have a decor problem and I need help! I love your style. I did post this on another thread but thought I'd try it this way. We have a HUGE open living room that I need to warm up a bit. The walls are a chocolate brown, furniture (sectional)is a smokey/charcoal blue. There is a fireplace and the mantle is painted white, brick is painted black. I have beige drapes and pillows. Also a HUGE floor to ceiling bookcase storage opposite the fireplace that is painted white. Great wood floors. Any ideas? The house is arts and crafts style but we LOVE modern/contemporary with an uptown city look. I almost forgot-there is TONS of light coming in from 4 different windows (not pretty ones!)which I think is part of the problem!

Hi Kristan! Do you use a lot of sunscreen? I've been watching the show for about a year and I don't think I've ever seen you with a tan. I've seen Spencer with a sunburn on one of the episodes and I think Dave as well. But you.. never!
btw, I love DOD. Your team and Lee's are the best. I wish they put out a DVD of all the episodes because I missed the first several seasons.

Hi Kristen,
I watch your show all the time, I think you are so refreshing to watch and what Bright Ideas you have. I need some help with my family room. I have dark grey furniture and black tables with a grey burber carpet ( would't have picked these colors, I kind of got stuck with them when I moved into my house). The room is pretty big and along one wall is a brick fireplace. Right now I have the top half of my wall painted white and the bottom half grey with white molding (BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I have the room accented with red (curtains, frames, pillows ) Oh yea, I also have a bar that is wrapped in oak waynes coating with a grey top. I want to change the color desperately and I don't thing I like the walls 2 colors. I am having a lot of trouble picking a color that goes with grey (my thought was blue or brown) I don't know if I will find accents or decorations to go with that combination. If any of my choices are o.k. what shade would you do. If not PLEASE HELP MY PICK A COLOR. Thanks

Hi Kristan, I was at my mom's house one day and she had DOD on and it was the Sweet Nursery episode (SO very cute btw). I had seen that episode before (and I know that it was a while ago that it re-aired), so I was talking to her more than actually watching. There was something that you guys put over top of the painter's tape before painting so that it wouldn't peel off the paint when the tape was removed. (We had that problem when we painted the rooms in my mom's new house.) But, since I was talking and not paying attention, I didn't catch what it was. I am hoping that you know exactly what I am talking about! My husband and I have to patch our plaster walls before we paint, but I want to do stripes and I want the lines to be perfect (like they were on the show!). If you can't remember, that's cool. I'm actually just kinda psyched that you'll read this! Anywho, thank you for your time. Cecilia

My 15 year old daughter wants her room decorated in a Broadway, musical, theatrical theme. I don't have a clue where to start! Would welcome any suggestions. Right now the room has white walls with builder beige carpet (that Dad doesn't want to change 'cause he likes it tht way). So, what about a wallpaper border or wall hangings. Window treatments are currently ugly plastic vertical blinds--they have to go. Any ideas anybody?
